@esterling what was the officer’s name??
@greysanatomy3113 Brett Fuller
@esterling Did he ever mention a ballpark range of how many waitlist admits they usually take?
If anybody calls, please don’t use my name or the officer’s name. I’d rather avoid getting myself or the officer in any trouble, just in case
@windowmuse no, he didn’t say anything specific, just that it varies
I would never do that don’t worry!! @esterling
Also @esterling i think he might have just been like a graduate student assistant not necessarily someone in the committee
@greysanatomy3113 that’s what I figured too, but the lady at the front desk had said he specifically mentioned that he had something to do with transfer applications… and thank you by the way, I just had to make sure
Did anyone receive any updates regarding the waitlist?
@okaycool The letter said that we likely wouldn’t hear back until mid-June, right? I don’t know why anyone is expecting to hear back right now
@okaycool @lexluther96 called today and theyre going to the waitlist. first wave is coming out “tomorrow and over the weekend” – told to “check my email”
Do you think we will get it in the morning??
Surprised it’s over the weekend too
Anything yet?
guess I was misinformed - released :,)
anyone else get this or just me. was sent to my email at around 5pm EST
Our incoming transfer class remains full, which leaves us with the regrettable task of releasing you from our waitlist so that you may go forward with your plans for the coming year. We fully expect that whatever future endeavors await you this fall will be made richer by your academic and personal contributions.
This has been an extraordinary year at Columbia in that both the quality of the applicant pool and the responses to our offers of admission have exceeded our expectations. We recognize and applaud your record of academic and personal achievement and regret that Columbia will not have the benefit of the contributions you could make here. I am confident that you will be successful and wish you the best in all your endeavors.
Thank you again for your longstanding interest in Columbia.
^same e-mail. Pretty disappointed… thought my second semester grades & letter would have allowed me to get off the waitlist
I also received the same email releasing me from the waitlist :)>-
disappointed but very happy that I (that all of us) did something that drew their attention…Cornell it is!
Well, so ends the application process. Honestly, I feel a little relieved that I won’t have to make another tough decision between two great schools. Even if you feel disappointed, the fact that we were all considered to be worthy candidates is no small accomplishment. Best of luck wherever you guys end up going!
