Columbia University RD Class of 2023

I totally agree @AwaitingApplicant131. I made a little thread on the ivy league tab about how people will open their decisions/what they will do on ivy day if people want to check that out!

Does anyone know of people who were waitlisted at Barnard but got into Columbia? I’'m losing hope ugh

@collegedreams121 I thought one cannot apply to both Barnard and Columbia or was I mistaken…?

Hey guys, I got a likely letter and an estimate of my financial aid few days ago from Columbia, but I received a call from my high school math teacher that columbia had called them this friday.

I’m so nervous now. Has anyone been through such experience before and what were some of the questions that the school asked about you, if you know any.

Do u guys think it’s bad if I didn’t apply for financial aid? I don’t get any of those hints because I didn’t so I’m not sure.

@yeet123 I also replied to you on the Princeton thread, but you are fine! It does not affect your chances, so don’t sweat it!

@Dreamer2023 my friend applied to both

@collegedreams121 I’m in the same boat as you! WL Barnard. I have no hope. (if it makes you feel better though, I have a friend who got waitlisted to Barnard but accepted Stanford REA).

Anyone else feel like just not checking their portal tomorrow? I have 0% hope. I don’t know if I want to see it. If I don’t open it, then I wasn’t really rejected!

Anyone know what time it’ll come out?

@AwaitingApplicant131 I got an email from them saying it will come out tomorrow at 7pm

@Losam5, DD got a likely from Columbia last year with a research fellowship but none of the teachers were contacted by Columbia. DD was excited and booked the trip for the admitted students+fellowship event right away. Perhaps that showed Columbia she was keen and stopped them from calling the school? She is a happily enrolled Freshman even though she had to turn down Caltech, UChicago and a host of other top 20 non-Ivies.

I was rejected from Barnard but Columbia has always been my dream school and I’ve expressed much more interest in Columbia (including an interview) so hopefully it’s not a bad omen??

Does anyone have Columbia’s checklist not being gone? Just want to ask because checklists of some colleges which I apply to were not gone.

@ech019 i think you will be fine. I was rejected by #50 rank colleges but waitlisted at Williams. So do not let past failure make u worried about future result.

it’s obv too late for this but just wondering: was it bad that I didn’t get an interview? I applied close to the deadline for ED and got deferred. We were not able to request them right? we could only be offered?

@court16 I think if you don’t get an interview for early, you won’t get one during regular. It’s not bad, it’s pretty random and can’t hurt you if you didn’t get one.
Don’t stress!!!

Ok I got waitlisted at Barnard and rejected from NYU, feeling very discouraged at this point…

Same. Rejected NU, Emory, Waitlisted Vanderbilt.

Hey everyone, there’s no point asking this question now, but it’s to pass the time:

I got an interview sign up from the Michigan Columbia alumni association/group in january/february but by the time I saw the email 2 hours later, all 25 spots were full. Do you think I should’ve let them known that I still wanted to interview so they could note it down, and not think that I wasn’t interested in interviewing?

Same here. I got rejected from NYU and Barnard, and Columbia is my dream school. Very scared for results at this point.
