Columbia's IEOR Department

Hi,

I have been lately upset by the reviews on professors of IEOR department at CULPA (CULPA - Industrial Engineering and Operations Research). I want to have an enriching experience of application of Industrial Engineering. My selection criteria of Columbia had opportunities of NYC as one of the parameters. Few other parameters were freedom to do courses in Columbia School of Business and concentration of business analyst.
I have the acceptance from Gatech and Umich as well...!!
1. Can someone tell me if MSOR students are given opportunities to do courses in business school?
2. How good is the concentration of Business Analyst in MSOR? (I want to be a M. consultant!!) Does the Management consults hire international students with MSOR conc in Business Analyst....?? I am an Asian!!!
3. I saw lots of courses on the IEOR department site, my apprehension is that do all these courses float sufficiently at Columbia and do the professors really teach these courses with enthusiasm?
4. The place from where I come, undergraduates are valued more than graduates. Is this the same case with Columbia also?
5. How much of a personal development can happen because of NYC being a grad student?
6. How much a tag of Ivy League actually matters to a grad student in terms of Job placement, academia and overall recognition?
7. After going through the reviews on CULPA, I think that professors are involved in politics and not interested in impactfull research. Can someone tell me if that is really the case?

P.S: Your answer really matters to me. If I happen to be in your city, I would definitely give you a treat (Do mention your city while replying). Thanks in advance!!!
