I'm currently a junior in a small public high school. I'll just do bulleted points, to save time for anyone kind enough to read through this:

- #3 in class of 215

- Received a 4 on the Calculus AB AP exam, and a 5 on the same for World History

In addition, I am of hispanic origin, and excel at writing.
Think I have a shot? (:

Well, what are your SAT, SAT Subject Test, and ACT scores? Those are pretty determining factors. Your HPA (weighted) is low being you only took 2 AP classes. I’m a sophomore and by the end of summer will have taken 6. By the time I’m a senior, it will be about 15. I’m Hispanic and excel as writing, as do you, which will definitely come in handy for the essays. Those can make or break whether you’re accepted or not. Teacher recommendations are important, too. Your extracurriculars are decent, not amazing, but mediocre. How many hours of community service have you gotten?

I was hoping you could tell me by chances of getting into Columbia.

Firstly, I am from South Africa and my race is Indian. I attend a private school but I most definitely CANNOT afford Columbia fees.

SAT: 2180 (780 Maths, 650 Critical Reading and 750 Writing)
Still going to write my SAT 2s but I am expecting 800 fir Maths 2 and 750 for Biology.
4.0 GPA and I take the only AP subject offered in my country (Maths). I am top 5 in my class.
I have achieved academic colours in my school. I have also come top 10% in the country for all private schools (our examinations are MUCH harder).

I play tennis for my school. I have completed 300 hours of community service throughout the country. I am part of an Interact Rotary Organisation (community service club) and I am a current board member of the club (secretary). I was the secretary of the school’s MDC (Matric(senior) Dance Committee). I have played a variety of sports but unfortunately, was never selected as a captain.

I have excellent recommendation letters from my tennis coach and my principal.

I have completed my ICDL (International Computers Licence) and I have been part of debating club, current affairs club, chess club and now Interact.

I also have been awarded the President’s award which requires 72 hours of community service, a 5 day residential project (an additional 40 hours of community service), major participation in sport and improvement, good academic results and cultural activities.

I am a prefect as well.

What are my chances of getting into Columbia?
