Combined Plan: Document Status Tracking

Hey! I know the deadline for combined plan has already passed. However, I still didn't get any confirmation from Columbia about my transcript. I've sent one right before I left for Christmas and another one like two or three weeks ago. My school has confirmed with me that my transcripts were sent out to Columbia, but when I'm trying to contact Columbia about it, they were basically just saying they were quit overwhelmed by the amount of documents and they would inform me as soon as they received it. Still, haven't heard anything back yet. Therefore, last week, I sent another email asking for my document status, and I ended up with an exactly same email as I received last time. Nothing really promising.

I'm truly worried about my transcript. Should I let my school send another one? If there anyone who is facing the same situation like I do?

p.s.: I remember once there was a document status tracking thing on the online application page after everything is submitted. However, it just suddenly disappeared one day and left with this: "Online document tracking will be available by March 5, 2014." I'm just wondering why they did that. With this situation, should I really wait until march 5th to see if my transcript is received? Will it be too late?

Thank you!

Haha yeah I’m in the same exact position. Columbia hasn’t told me about anything, though I did recently get an email saying they received ONE of the letters of recommendation…that’s all I’ve heard from them.

And they probably took the document status tracking off the site because they didn’t have time to update it and everyone was freaking out when they saw nothing was there yet and they were calling up asking questions haha.

To be honest, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. They don’t make the decision until late April, if I remember correctly, so there should be plenty of time. I can’t imagine them refusing to accept people because Columbia was too disorganized to inform us that the they didn’t receive the documents.

But yeah, you’re not the only one.

BTW: have you received any emails about the letters of recommendation?

Yes. I think the letter of recommendation goes through the online system, which is different from the transcript, so I got the automatic email notifications as soon as my professor submitted their recommendation online. But if you have checked with your professors and still didn’t get anything yet, you probably want to double check with columbia to see if it is just their the online app system being funky or there is something else coming up. I believe you’ll be fine, good luck!

I was checking my online app and I found out that the doc tracking is back! You may be able to check yours too. Good luck!

Thanks for letting me know!

It says that I’m missing two of my letters of recommendation, but that one of them was received. Is that the case for you?

I’m a little hesitant to send out a reminder to my professors if they have already submitted their letters of recommendation…

All of mine LoRs are received. I think you should definitely check with your professors since they might be busy and your recommendation is surely not the only thing they are working on, so there is a possibility that they are having some problem with the recommendation or just forget about that. (I’m sorry to say this but that was the case for me. I had to check with one of my professors twice a week so that he finally submitted it before the deadline. They are all busy persons, you know…)
