Is anybody still waiting for their admission into UCI? Mine still hasn't come out yet, and my account page keeps saying we will inform you when decisions have been made. Worst part is that most of my friends have already got in, so have they stopped sending out acceptances?

I'm in the same situation now. All my friends now are accepted into Irvine except me, I'm still waiting for a response. They told me not to worry because some people end up getting accepted on March 31st, its completely random they said.

I think the major you applied to (depending on auditions/evaluation) could make your notification take longer, but I'm not sure.

My best friend in the entire world is as nervous as hell, waiting for her decision. I cannot comprehend why they are doing this. Why not send them out all at once? What could possibly be gained by sending the decisions out in batches? All it serves to accomplish is to shred the poor applicants' nerves.

It also annoyed me because I got my UCLA and USC decisions before them.

I thought they were trying to keep their university in peoples' minds because many of the other UCs have already given decisions.

I applied there as a Civil Engineering major. I hope I don't end up getting rejected from Irvine, cuz I didn't get into UCLA nor Davis.

I havent heard from UCI either but some of the people have already gotten rejected too, along with the people who have gotten accepted, there is no rhyme or reason I guess. Just be patient and wait it out. If you worked hard through the course of high school, you should just let fate run its course.

Count me in! I'm also waiting for UCI decisions. I applied there as a Computer Science major. Well, actually I haven't heard anything from the UCs that I applied to. sigh

My son applied to 5 UC schools only. He got 3 bio-engineering acceptances. Last week I urged him to reply the declined letters to 2 schools he doesn't want to attend and to pass chances to others. I hope people who read this post kindly do the same thing for others.

how many of you who haven't heard from Irvine applied as undeclared?
Because I applied as undeclared, still no response.

I'm still waiting too and everyone I asked who found out their uci decisions said they got accepted, which kind of irks me since maybe uci will send out a huge batch of rejections at the end of the month

Yea it's kinda strange that UCI is sending acceptances/rejections even after UCLA's. Ughh this waiting period has made me so different, i keep checking my account on their site like every couple of hours.

friend just got rejected today.

we live really close to irvine, so expect another batch (maybe the last?) to come out to you guys in the next few days.

What it says on my page:

The following is a brief summary of your application status.
We have received your Freshman application.
You are being considered for the Civil Engineering major.
- Preferred Major: CIVIL ENGINEERING
- Alternate Major: ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
We will notify you of our admissions decision as soon as it has been determined.

likewise waiting..

Irvine, from what I have heard, is trying to diversify their student population and create a more campus-like, collegiate atmosphere. This may have something to do with some of you, who are obviously qualified, to have to wait so long. My daughter, who is qualified but not off the charts, was admitted in January, and I truly believe its because she represents a demographic they are trying to attract to the school.

I'm muslim (from Afghanistan), so maybe thats why? =[

LOL notsogood your not the only muslim that applied and i don't think their was a box about religion.

Yea but he might have a greater chance that most of us. I don't know about mine, but I'm Indian so yea. I heard that a lot of Asians go to the school, which is why they might be trying to diversify it maybe?

Lol there has been a lot of discussion in the UCI subforum regarding the strange admissions process. I heard that the admissions committee is understaffed. I don't know how valid that is, but I'm still waiting for Irvine too. Apparently they update your status around 11pm and then follow-up with an e-mail at 3am.
