I don't like it at all; font is small, absence of last poster name removes an interesting element, and new way of listing colleges and universities (across three columns and then down to the next row) is hard to follow. Seems like a Web designer playing games with design innovations wtihout much thought as to function or aesthetics..

I'm not thrilled with it either (I read more than post). For this tri-focal wearer the font is WAY too small (and I wouldn't change the font size on my computer because it's fine everywhere else).

I miss being able to see who made the last comment on a thread. I actually follow certain posters (not in a stalking way).

I do appreciate the Helen Keller reference, but I'm sick that way!! ;)

The ability to see who last commented on a thread is very important for me. Now I keep on oppening threads only to find out that I was the last person to post.

**I am a Netscape user. With this new forum I have formatting tools (boldface, smilies, etc) that I did not have before.
I do have to change the font size to 150% to suit my middle-aged eyes, though
I too miss the feature that shows the name of the last poster. :( Please bring that back.

I also miss the name of the last poster. Please bring it back.

We need the name of the last poster!

Otherwise, it's fine I guess. (I can't help but feel a little shouted at though with all those underlined things.)

Thought it was just me and my glasses this AM !! And please bring back last post.

Weenie, it's odd, but I agree about feeling shouted at with all the underlining.

Btw, is there an invisible mode with this new format? I see that we can now tell if a poster is on or off-line etc.

The problem with changing my computer screen's font size (zooming in) is that I frequently toggle back and forth between CC and numerous other websites and I don't need the other sites' text to appear in giant 42 point type.

At least with Firefox (don't know about other browsers), if you use tabbed browsing, your font size in one tab won't affect the font size in another, so you can increase the size of the font in CC and open your other sites in a different tab(s), the font will be normal in the new tab(s), and then you can toggle between tabs that way.

Oh, man. The type is tiny! And did you notice it's much, much tighter? The letters are closer together and the lines are closer together top to bottom.

Testing to see if I can post. I agree that we need to be able to see who the last poster was!

I can post; now to see if I can edit! Oh, goody, I can!

Sorry to be off topic....but could someone please tell me how to 'quote' another's post? I have been trying to figure it out for a while and have not been able to do so. Thanks.

Its simple if you want to quote something without saying who said it you type
[QUOTE]
the quote /QUOTEif you want to say who posted you write
[QUOTE"name"]
the quote[ /QUOTE]

Type [ quote ] at the beginning of the quote and [/ quote] at the end (but take out the spaces inside the brackets.

agree with the last poster comments...

also, I really used the posts & views numbers in the last version as a way to check in with hot topics when returning to the board after a week or 2 or 3 hiatus. (per thread only, didn't use the counts at all at levels above the threads.)

I thank you very much.

The display option links at the bottom of the page took a while for me to find and then a while longer to get used to how it works, but the option choices do a good job sorting the threads in terms of number of views, posts, etc. in ascending and descending order and in different time frames. The search and advanced search options, however, don't work ...

Not fond of the changes!! ALOT LESS organized than it was - harder to use now!! Wonder whose bright idea this was???!!!???

Miss name of last poster.

Unable to see how many posts are on a thread - I sure hate to read thru 358 posts on most subjects

Small font used on main page - who ever thought of that needs to try reading it with glasses opposite what they need - to see how others fair with it :(

I certainly hope the developers of this site are actually reading this and willing to make some improvements on what they have now done :)

Like the quote thing tho

I particularly miss the name of the poster who last posted, as there are those whose comments I follow avidly. Also, if I posted on a thread and I am the last poster I really don't need to check it....

As usual, I agree with my cyberfriend, Alumother; and others with the same request.

Also, "View First Unread" has disappeared - a very useful feature.

I'll get used to the format changes, but can we please have these valued features back?

I do like the way smilies, fonts etc. are easier to access - but not sure when they do and don't show up in the message composition window. When I started a thread, they did; but here, upon replying, they don't.

Edit ---Oops: found the View First Unread feature. Thanks (maybe it never disappeared).

Agree with Jeepmom - it's a major step backwards!!!!
