I think the meal plan options changed almost every year my kids were there. I’m not surprised that the freshman meal plan has changed though given the story I saw a few months ago about a kid from Penn who organized to give uneaten meals from the student meal plan to a homeless shelter. I thought that would be very typical of Vandy students to follow suit and very expensive for Vandy in a time of economic stress.

did y’all use the commodore card to buy textbooks? Because then 750 bucks starts to look reasonable… ;_;

^^ You can use it for textbooks I think.

Actually, when some organizations were doing food drives, they would set up a station by Common Grounds (the snack mart in the Commons dining center) during 4th meal since they knew most people don’t really care about that a.m. meal anyway.

1st semester, I decided to use some of my own money to buy books and Commodore Cash for the rest. I ended up having an abundance of Commodore Cash and pretty low in the checking account 8( lol 2nd semester, not including the rolled over C-Cash, I bought my books all on the Card and it started to go quickly! I personally think $750 is definitely reasonable, even though it is per semester. I understand parents not wanting to spend the xtra, but you’ll still have to pay for books anyway. I personally would’ve preferred more money in my checking account, that way you have more freedom over your money and can buy books online if you wish.

Also, there are taste of nashville options like Cafe Coco, Bread & Co., and Cabana. YUM. To be perfectly honest, I spent a great deal on concert tickets (James Morrison, Dave matthews Band & Jason Mraz, plus Rites tix and Commodore Quake (homecoming concert), there were more and I can’t remember lol) but the Commodore Card actually restricts my spending since any mall money had to come from my pocket. I also bought Cab Cash to go downtown often.
