Hello, not sure there is anything to be done about this potential situation, but there may be something I am not considering:
S18 will begin filling out the applications soon, hopefully as close to August 1 as possible (or earlier). For the sake of argument we will have 8-12 total schools getting applications.
4 or 5 of those are on ApplyTexas, with ONE of these 4 or 5 NOT being on the common app. So … we will have to do Applytexas regardless (or coalition).
Any reason/advantage to just do all the TX schools on applytexas, and the rest on common app? Either way, we will be applying via two interfaces. Just wonder of there is an advantage I am not consiering to splitting them “4 and 6” rather than “1 and 9”. For example, extra hassle for scores or recommendations?
Probably not…
I cant think of one unless the essays are a better fit on one than the other. Per ApplyTTexas the essays will be the same as last year. Helpful if he wants to get a jump on them. My D18 will do ApplyTexas for all TX schools and then do the one OOS app separately.
thinking out loud …
Do schools you have submitted via common app have visibility to all your other common app schools applied to?
Do schools you have submitted via ApplyTexas have visibility to all your other ApplyTexas schools applied to?
Do schools submitted via one method have a view in to the names of other schools applied to on the other method?
Speaking for the Common App, a university cannot tell just from the application where else a student applied.
Thanks, what about FAFSA? Schools CAN tell what other schools are listed there, correct?
