I don’t know what we are missing, and my frustration levels are at “smack head against the wall”. We go to Naviance and there is a video about requesting transcripts- it instructs you to go to “Colleges I’m Applying to” and click the “request transcripts” button. The catch? When we follow the instructions, there is no tab that matches what is in their video. There is no option to request a transcript. So we go to the Common App site, and for the schools he is applying to, for transcripts it instructs us to “please contact our counselor directly”, and that our school is using Naviance for transcripts. The final insult? Kiddo goes to the guidance counselor who has no idea what to do. Does anyone have a solution in Naviance to get the request in? I’ll send so much positive energy your way…
I haven’t seen the video you mentioned but my D’s school uses Naviance. When I click on the Request Transcript button, it pulls up a box to check for the type of transcript I am requesting then the next step asks where I want the transcripts sent and the schools she is applying to are listed to check the ones to send to followed by a button to request and finish. I am assuming you are logged into the right account and you have added colleges to the list but have you linked the common app account with the Naviance account?
Try logging in with a different browser.
thanks @blossom and @helpingmom40 . I tried with 2 different browsers without luck (I really had my hopes up for that one). We are logged in correctly. The view I have basically looks like what you see in the instruction video, but is just missing the box where you can request a transcript. I’ve told DS to get an appointment with his GC to sort it out. I wouldn’t normally be so frantic but he has scholarship applications through the university due by Nov 1, and it is required. We may even have to go old school and mail a paper version.
Someone in the guidance counseling office must know how transcripts are delivered to the Common App for all their seniors. (It may be different for every school, but at the one I’m familiar with, the student tells the counselor to submit it and then the counselor submits the transcript to the Common App through Naviance.)
If it doesn’t work on your computer at home, maybe a sit-down with the counselor would get it done - someone must be able to make this happen.
Does your son’s school’s counseling office have an administrative type or secretary? I often find these types are the “go tos” for this sort of help.
