On the Commmon App, the Arts Supplement is listed as a supplement for Oberlin--is this only for students applying to the conservatory? I am a bassoonist and would like to send a recording to strengthen my application, but I am not applying to the conservatory, I am applying to the College of Arts and Sciences.

Is that the purpose of this form, or is it meant to accompany auditions of music majors?

The Common App arts supplement is just that; a SUPPLEMENT. It is an optional area in which students who have spent a significant amount of time with the fine arts in their high school career may demonstrate this passion.

I believe the Conservatory has its own different application process, one that would likely require a music sample. As long as you indicate you are applying to the college of arts and sciences, you should be fine. The admissions office will be able to tell you are applying to the college based on your application alone. I don't think there is much need for specificity.

The Conservatory application is entirely separate.
