Common App confusion

I completed two quarters at UCLA in 2010 and 2011. I have not taken college classes since but I am enrolling in classes at Mesa community college for this spring semester. I will be applying, however, to transfer to USC for fall of 2014.

So when they ask for "College" on the Common App (the section where they ask for your Adviser's name, phone number, email, et cetera), would I enter UCLA's information or Mesa College's info?

Also, since I have not taken any courses at Mesa yet, I will be sending recommendations and a registrar report from UCLA only, correct?

For the Advisor info, that’s a tough question as your situation is unique. I’d recommend calling USC and ask them which they’d rather have.

For the LORs, yes, you’re going to have to get your UCLA profs because you likely won’t have gotten to know Mesa profs well enough by the time you submit your application.

For the College Report, they will likely just want UCLA, but I would ask them this when you call about the advisor, as they may want to see that you are in good standing there as well.

Thank you, entomom! I will try calling USC.
