Common App Essay: Lose All Track of Time

Hi,
I am having my Common App essay edited by someone, and his comment is that my essay (Answers the prompt about something that I do that makes me lose track of time) makes me sound self-centered because I don’t write about how my writing (My answer for the prompt) has helped someone else or has contributed to the community.
Is it necessary to put in something like that?
My essay is mostly about how I feel when I write and why I love writing and how I’ve changed as a writer.

And if I do need how my writing has contributed to others, how would I incorporate that without having a jarring transition? My whole essay is about my personal reaction to writing.

Your essay sounds fine. It is meant to be about you - however you want to present yourself.

Agree, it sounds fine.
