<p>So I am writing my common app essay and have a couple of questions...</p>
<p>Does it need a title? Should it be double spaced as if you were writing a regular essay for class? And I've hear the optimum length should be between 500-900ish words, is this right?</p>

<p>It does not require a title. Sure, you can double space it, even 1.5 space it, but not single space it. Most essays fall between 600-750 words, but any length over 250 is fine - as long as the content is not superfluous and it maintains relevance throughout the entire essay.</p>
