Hey all. To start off, I appreciate you reading this and trying to help me!
So I'm filling out the optional essay for the common application, and I am choosing to do "Awards and Honors" for that section (simply a list with some descriptions following them.)
Well, when I type it in, it looks fine, (only 620/650 words) and in the preview spot where you can edit the essay, everything looks good.
But when the PDF shows the essay, some spaces are missing. i.e. I will type:
"Awards and honors
this award"
and it will show as
"Awards and honorsthisaward"
for some of the first few lines.
This is very annoying. I have tried putting spaces, punctuation, and eve taking out some text, but nothing seems to work. Should I contact CommonApp about this, or has someone found a solution that works?
Thanks.

Try a different browser and also update your acrobat reader.

Neither of those worked, but thanks for the suggestions. Any other ideas?

From what I’ve read, text is copying best from mac>chrome>text edit. I think that’s the right browser or it might have been Safari. Anyway, loads of students are experiencing similar problems so search this forum for answers. There’s a lot of discussion of spacing/indent issues.
