How true is it that the topic isn’t as important as how you write it? Like, a lot of people have some really inspiring or heartbreaking life story. I don’t have that kind of stuff, so if I were to write really well about some mundane topic (going for a walk, my room, etc.) could it be just as good as those heavier ones that other people write?
It needs to reveal something about you. So mundane topic might be “drivers Ed with my dad” because it shows something about you and your family relationships. Mundane topic “your room” but super well written??? What is it going to say about you?
Writing well always helps, but the essay is about you, not an essay for the sake of writing an essay. It needs to show something about you that will make the AO reading it say “I want this student to be part of our next freshman class”.
