So, for one of my college supplement essays, I have to write about a passion of mine. What I really love is writing (stories, poems, songs, etc.). I am constantly writing at home, but I have no EC's to show for it. I'm not in the creative writing club at school, because what I write is private. I'm not on the school newspaper, because I only write creatively. Should I continue with this topic, and explain that it's only an at-home hobby? Or will that look bad and I should choose a topic about an EC that I'm less passionate about?

Rememeber, these supplement essays are suppose to show the college who YOU are. They want to get to know your passions and enthusiams. Just because you don’t have some trophies to show how prestigous your writing is doesn’t mean you shouldn’t write about it! You are passionate about it which means your essay will be much more natural and interesting than if you forced yourself to write about some subject that you don’t care about.

Okay, thank you for the advice! I’ll be sure to follow it!
