Common App Personal Statement Topic Of Choice

<p>So, I'm writing the essay with the topic of my choice.
On top of the essay should I make up my own topic and write it?</p>

<p>ex) Topic: Explain the difficulties you had of providing something new to the environment.</p>

<p>or should it be like</p>

<p>ex) Topic: The difficulties I had of providing something new to the environment.</p>

<p>bump bump bump</p>

<p>you must (meaning should) title it if you do topic of choice</p>

<p>do i put the title on the top of the page right?</p>

<p>On the Writing page of the online common app form, there’s a radio button where you indicate the topic. It says:</p>

<p>** Required Please indicate your topic by checking the appropriate button below. **</p>

<p>The topic of your choice is the last option.</p>

<p>My older son’s essay was the topic of his choice last year and he never titled it. My younger son is writing on the topic of his choice this year; he never thought of adding a title (nor did I).</p>

<p>If it’s a good enough essay, you really shouldn’t have to title it – IMHO.</p>

<p>but no need to make up my own topic right?</p>

<p>Honestly, I think including a prompt makes it sound like you wrote the essay for English class and you were simply too lazy to write something new…</p>
