<p>for example I want to do Intel STS, but I won't find out until feb if I am a semi finalist or finalist. Is it ok for me to put:
Intel Science Talent Search (pending)</p>

if you get it (in late jan), it wouldn't be too late to save your application, and i'd imagine they cross-compare their pool with the winners.</p>

<p>Um, still not a good idea. Awards aren't meaningful until you've won them. To list the competition as "pending" seems kind of cocky.</p>
