if i'm ~pretty sure~ i'm going to get an honor in the spring of senior year, do you think i can go ahead and put it as one of my honors on the common app?

for example, i've qualified for aime for 4 years now, so i'm pretty confident on this year's aime. however, I wont actually know until march- can i check off 12th grade anyways?

I wouldn’t. If you write down that you qualified in March of 2012 and 2013, they’ll know that it’s impossible for you to have qualified in 2014 because it’s not March yet. Maybe write (anticipated) next to it or something similar

Definitely do NOT put it in. If it is an award you haven’t actually been awarded yet, it is dishonest to include it. If you put something like “anticipated”, that seems presumptuous, and it seems like you are not self-confident enough to rest your case on the honors you actually have already been awarded.

If it is something you already got in previous years (like aime) you already have “credit” for it. Admissions folks know when most awards come out, so they won’t expect things like aime to be there for senior year.
