Hey, anyone using the common app, why do the essay and short answer have a text limit with a warning that says any more will be “truncated”? I wrote more and on the print preview anything more than the limit is simply added on! I suppose it is obvious that I went over the limit because under the short answer it just says “see additional pages”. Does this instantly mean that my app should be tossed? If there is a text limit, it shouldn’t be able to add anything and make it seem like its OK to go over. Someone help.

yea the commonapp wont truncate anything...unless its like 2000 words. i would still try to keep my essay less than 700 words though

see the thing is that if its say 501 words, i dont think the essay will be in the proper place. It will say 'see attached pages'. Im just worried that this is a very clear indication that an applicant went over the limit. Basically, I am not sure if I should leave my essay long or cut it short if keeping long is OK (its about 900 words).
