Hi,
A question about SAT score reporting on the common app:
It has a question how many scores do I have to report. In my case I took SAT-1 twice - but my best score (total score and individual sections and writing score) is from a single test. i.e. no superscoring. The college that I applied in EA don’t require all scores. I thought its OK to send one test score. But I just previewed the full app in pdf and in the test section, it says I took SAT once. This is not technically correct, I took test twice but opted to ‘report’ single score (basically the way common app worded this question while reporting the score vs how it summarized for college is different). I am now worried if its seen as I am trying to lie. any thoughts on this.
The question does not ask how many times you took the SAT. It asks:
Yes - that is what I am asking about.
The question on the common app asks:
Number of past SAT scores you wish to report [I opted to “report” one]
After all the app is completed, I took a pdf preview and this is what it says in the preview:
SAT
EBRW (score) (test-date)
Math (score) (test-date)
Essay (score) (test-date)
Taken 1 <-----
This is what I am asking - the college see it as I took the test once (all the scores are from a single test). Common App summary that is sent to college does not have the language of “wish to report” - instead a straight “taken”.
The two can be different as in my case - not sure if colleges care.
You answered the question you were asked. The format the college receives is not relevant.
clgApp20 has a valid question. Does anyone have an answer?
Do colleges know how the question is worded?
We don’t want them to think that we are lying.
Here is the situation: Took the SAT twice. But reporting only one, cause that’s all I “wish to report”. However in the final pdf, it says “Taken: 1” That’s not entirely true, but I have provided a legitimate answer to the question.
