Common App Supplement Character Count is Off?

<p>On Microsoft Word, the character count is 1984. If I include the extra spaces common app counts for characters in line breaks, then the character count should be 1989. However, Common App insists that it's 2004 characters, which is 4 above the limit.</p>

<p>I'm not saying it's too hard to cut down 4 characters, but if it's actually overcounting by 15 characters, I feel like I could really do something with those extra few characters. </p>

<p>Is anyone else experiencing this?</p>

<p>Surely you can remove 4 characters to get under the limit. Worry about something else on your application. Nothing that you can say with 4 add’l characters out of 2000 that you couldn’t also say with 1985 or 1989.</p>
