Common App: The "Topic of Your Choice" Essay

<p>I don't want to write about any of the prompts, and I want to write about a topic of my choice.</p>

<p>Two questions. First, do we need to make up a specific prompt? The one I have been planning to write doesn't really fit a prompt. It's very specific and the idea is focused. I just can't make up a prompt to go with it.</p>

<p>Second question: If we do need to come up with a prompt for our topic, should we write the prompt at the top of our essay?</p>

<p>No prompt needs to be made or included anywhere. That section is simply for topics that don’t fit into any of the other prompts, which is rare.</p>
