Common App

On the common application, there's a section where you can list any colleges/universities where you have earned college credit. I attended a summer program in the University of Chicago and got some credit. I was wondering if I should put that down on the application. I know it would make the University of Chicago happy but would it make other universities unhappy?

And just a general question. Is it okay to do the common application application online but do teacher recommendations and other supplements on paper. I know some teachers would want to do the recommendations on paper and mail it instead of online. Would all colleges be okay with that because I heard that Northwestern wants the common app and the supplements to be both done online or both done on paper.

If you received college credit at U Chicago, you definitely need to list it and then before matriculating you’ll want to send a transcript to the school you end up attending so they give you credit for it. There is no school where listing actual college credit earned in high school on your app will hurt you in the application process.

And, at least last year, it was fine for teachers send their recs on paper even though the applicant did the common app online. The common app schools are trying to move everyone toward online submissions, but it’s taking a while and many teachers and counselors still do it the old way.
