I have a questions on the common app, well, on the recommenders side of the application
This is the first time the teachers and principal in my school are using the Common App
and well, they're apprehensive of incorrectly entering information for my application
So they've written down some questions they got on the application and asked me what they had to fill in

--Do you complete applicants' academic ratings on the Common Application Teacher Evaluation?--
well even I have no idea what this is, and it's a Yes/No question

--List the courses in which you have taught this student including the level of course difficulty (AP, IB, accelerated, honors, elective, 100-level, 200-level)--
It seems answering this question is mandatory
I don't have AP courses or whatever in my school,
All I've done are the basic 5 subjects we learn at school
and among the teachers that I've asked to do the recommendations, one is an English Teacher and the other an Accountancy teacher
Should I tell them to just put in English and Accountancy?

--Please upload a document describing what you think is important about this student, including a description of academic and personal characteristics, as demonstrated in your classroom. We welcome information that will help us to differentiate this student--
Is a PDF format of a letter of recommendation enough for this?

Yes, your recommenders should complete the academic ratings section in the Teacher Evaluation form. This is a table with 15 categories: academic achievement, intellectual promise, writing, creativity, class discussion, faculty respect, work habits, maturity, motivation, leadership, integrity, resilience, collaborative, self-confidence, initiative, and OVERALL. For each they are asked to tick one of seven boxes to indicate where they believe you fall in a range from below average to top 1% (or they may tick a box indicating they have no basis to evaluate you for the particular category).

The teacher just needs to list the courses he/she taught you in and the level. English 100 level, for example, would be first year or freshman regular non-honors English.

A letter of recommendation in pdf format is absolutely appropriate to attach to the teacher eval form.

thanks again niceday!
If you don’t mind, I got a couple more questions,
Today my teacher asked how much she has write for some description about me, some thing about what first comes to mind when she thinks about me,
I didn’t get that question, but is just about 4-5 sentences enough?

And also, my principal was asking what he should be reporting some Grade Point Average
In my case, the thing is
I study in a CBSE school
about 3-4 years ago they started a new system called CCE, where they grade each subject each A1, A2, B1 and so on.
I got A1 in all subjects, (i.e. 10 GPA) in 10th grade
But this CCE system is only till 10th grade, from 11th onward we had only marks - no grading whatsoever
So he was asking if he should reporting that too

And since I am currently half way through my 12th grade, should I tell him to submit my 11th grade Final exam Marksheet and 12th grade first semester exam marksheet?

4-5 sentences in response to the ‘what first comes to mind’ prompt sounds fine.

Your principal does need to explain your grading system thoroughly so schools can understand your transcripts and also where you stand compared to others in your grade. He should describe grading metrics for both periods - before 10th and in your later grades. This is in lieu of providing a grade point scale or average, because, of course, that concept is inapplicable to your system.

Your 11th finals are mandatory to send and if your 1st semester 12 marksheet is already available, yes, that should also be sent. If it is not available, it should be sent as soon as possible with the Mid-Year Report.

I have just completed Common Application application and sent them
the contact of the follows :
School Counsellor, 2 teachers and 1 other recommendator. Could I change the
choice of recommendator? If yes, how to login and find the change button?

Once you have submitted your application to a school, your invited recommenders can no longer be changed. You can change them before submitting by going to the school on your dashboard and in the assign recommenders section at the top click on Manage Recommenders. If you need to re-invite a recommender, the circle arrow beside the trash can re-sends the invitation email.
