<p>On the other hand, will colleges see the choice of username? Are we supposed to choose a 'neutral' username?</p>
<p>Nothing screams “my dad filled this out” like using all caps. I’ve never seen a student do that. They’re far too aware of the tone that using all caps implies.</p>

<p>I’ve gotten into the habit of capitalizing for certain important handwritten documents (in order to make sure my handwriting doesn’t interfere with understanding).</p>
<p>I surmise that a typed Common Application is legible enough.</p>
<p>The student should be filling out the Common Application online.</p>
