Please share all your experiences with communal baths be them good, bad, gross, person, or what just PLEASE share. Just kinda curious about them...

what are you talking about? This isn’t ancient Rome

Well like I was looking at [Brown’s dorms](http://reslife.brown.edu/new_students/residence_halls/andrews_hall.html) and they kept saying communal baths… I guess they meant communal showers…I think it would be like really awkward and stuff…

Is this real? even when I went to college in the 3rd world, the dorms have individual showers (1 person gets 1 shower)

They probably mean that it’s one big bathroom. Most colleges have separate shower stalls.

^Yeah its real…

maybe it’s like that in LA or NY… LA has 3X the population of my entire state… and my state is just behind texas in size.

It’s communal in the sense that there is a single bathroom shared by everyone on the floor (as opposed to in-suite or personal bathrooms), not that everyone showers in one large communal shower.
As far as experiences, I’ve never had problems. They’re cleaned regularly and people are generally courteous.

Communal baths … lol… i get the idea of roman communal baths at colleges…funny.

I’m a student at Brown, and I can promise you that the showers are NOT communal. A “communal bath” just means that you share a bathroom with other students. Some people share by hall, while some students (including me) share with a few other rooms of students.

i share a communal bathroom, with 3 individual showers, with 24 guys and i dont mind. most of the time no one else is even showering when i am (although i might shower at uncommon times).theres a couple things that can be gross or bother me
-people shaving, spitting, or pouring soup out in the sink without cleaning it out. i thinks its rude/gross
-1 of the toilet’s seats doesnt stay up, so a lot of people always pee in there since people would prob pee on the seat anyways. it also seems to be the most popular toilet for people to puke in (this is rare though, some floors have on average half the toilets puked in on weekends)
-people peeing on the floor a little in front of the toilet
i dont really mind communal bathrooms, and i dont have to clean them. does anyone else have a bathtub in theirs though?
