Communication between Ivy Leagues

Hi, all. Will Ivy Leagues talk about a red flagged applicant between each other? Honestly, I think I was red flagged during my interview at one of the colleges. So, will Ivy Leagues talk about or “warn” each other about a red flagged applicants? Please help.

Depends of what you said to get you red flagged.

Any comments will be appreciated. Especially if you’re somewhat involved in an admission process.

I lied about something, and I think it discredited my application. So do you think that one Ivy League will communicate about this issue with others? And do you think it is wise if I email my interviewer to express my stupidity and apologize?

So the interviewer knew you were lying?

I am positive he found out afterwards.

So, what do you think about the chances this one Ivy will talk to the others about me? Not going to exaggerate, but it was positive that I was going to be admitted.

I don’t think it is common that they talk unless whatever you lied about is something extremely serious like criminal or highly unethical. What would be more common is that they would contact your guidance counselor and talk to them about it if it is something that made their recommendation inaccurate and they could act accordingly.

How were you sure you were going to be admitted? Are you an athletic recruit? If so, I would assume that coaches talk to each other.

I doubt it.

How would they even know that you applied to other Ivy League universities? Admissions counselors, who are usually very busy traveling around the country (or world) and reviewing the 40,000 applications on their desk, would have to go out of their way to contact the admissions officers of the other 7 schools in their athletic conference - who are also busy reviewing the 40,000 applications on their desks - on the off chance that you applied to at least one of them.

What did you lie about? How are you so certain your interviewer knows you were lying?

I think the only way to be positive you are going to be admitted at an Ivy is to be a development candidate with deep, deep pockets or the son or daughter of some very prominent politician or celebrity.
