Does anyone know of schools that have strong media studies programs? I really liked the program at Elon University and am trying to find other schools with the possibility of majoring in Communication (Media Studies). Thank you in advance for any information!

I live in the south, and I’ve really only been looking at southern schools. Western Kentucky University seems to have a great communication/media/broadcasting program!

Penn, Syracuse, Northwestern, UT-Austin, UM-Ann Arbor, Pepperdine, UNC-Chapel Hill

I’ve heard that the Annenberg schools of Communication are the best. Annenberg donated millions to these two schools, check 'em out!

UPenn [Annenberg School For Communication at the University of Pennsylvania](http://www.asc.upenn.edu/index.asp)

USC [USC Annenberg School for Communication](http://annenberg.usc.edu/)

When my son and I visited Penn a few years ago we both got the distinct impression they wanted him to come back for graduate school and almost seemed to pooh-pooh the undergraduate program. My son wound up going to American University, but looked into Syracuse, U of MD, GW, Temple, Fordham and U of Scranton.

My D is at Fordham, LC campus. Choice between Happy Valley and Manhattan = no real choice there. If you want to work in communications after graduation, why not go to school where the jobs are so you can network, intern, have opportunities all four years? Even the placement guy at Penn State told me she would have a better chance of getting a job in NYC if she went to undergrad there vs. going to Penn and then looking for work there when she graduated. Fordham has a well respected program, and, did I mention, it is in Manhattan?

Best school for a Media Studies degree or mass communications degree is UC Berkeley. They have the number one program in the nation.
