Hey guys!
I’m a bit confused on what exactly communication and journalism majors are.
I’m not either, but from what I know comm is a bit more general while journalism is very based in technical skills i.e. how to write bylines or adhering to AP style
Communications is the umbrella many majors fall under, like business. Included therein might be TV reporting and production, radio, magazine, social media. Sometimes it includes speech and public speaking. Journalism is the process of gathering information for use in any of these platforms. Techniques such as news writing, interviewing, feature writing are all included. Social media is also a major component here as well. Editing classes are dwindling, but helpful. All communications are based in good writing.
