The only 4-year colleges that have accepted me are out-of-state. I was crazy about the idea at first. But as I looked on, the costs became more realistic.
On the other hand, if I stay in California, I can use the cal-grants provided I graduate within three years because that's how long they will hold it.
That would mean going through community college first and transferring to a UC. My parents aren't crazy about the idea to begin with.
I have always wanted to go to medical school and become an ob/gyn. If I were to follow through with this plan, would I jeapordize my chances of gaining admittance? Would medical school admissions look down on my application because I have GPA's from community college that are notoriously perceived to be 'easier?' Can I complete pre-medicine requirements successfully even without the advising and support of a 4-year? Could I somehow find all the information on my own without supposedly better counseling?
Or should I just go directly to a 4-year university if I am really serious about medical school?
Any advice would really help at this point.
