Community College Courses Over The Summer

This summer, I plan to take a few (3-4) courses at a local community college between my junior and senior year. I specifically plan to take courses related to my top prospective majors (philosophy and political science) because these subjects are not offered at my school.

I realize that the credit I earn will probably not be very transferable, but that aside I wonder how will this affect college admissions. I have a genuine desire to use my time effectively instead of just lazing around all summer, but how do community college courses compare to for instance a job or internship?

The courses I am planning on taking are Ethics, Logic, Comparative Politics, and Political Thought. I already have an decent background in these topics from my own reading and it is inconceivable to me that my grades would not be A's.

It will definitely be beneficial even if you don’t get any credits. It will indicate to the admissions ppl that you have a strong interest in you field and that your willing to work and spend your summers wisely.

very smart sureshot method. It shows if you are really devoted and adapt in one major then they will probably admit you for that major
