Community College Courses?

I've been hearing that many students take community college courses to "boost" GPA (mostly for UCs). So if I take a community college course, will it be calculated with my gpa?

It depends on your school’s policies.

Add to aigiqinf. unless your GPA is really low and need helps, it is better off to do ECs. Adding another A to a 3.6GPA does not help the total much.

what about 3.5?

Personally, 3.5 is not much different from a 3.6. You can do the math (I am not going to try it here), but getting another A might just increase your GPA by 0.0x (x is your point). I would do some ECs, believe me, ECs can separate you from rest of the 3.5 and 3.6s in the application pool.

Your next question might be what ECs you should do. My answer is always, pick the one that interested you, not those that looks good. admission can tell whether you pick a EC for the look or you really enjoy it.

Good luck!

I’m a freshman so I can still improve. I’m doing tons of stuff over the next few summers. I just wanted to do one to make up for my freshman gpa.

Itry, you have plenty of time. Take the most challenging classes at your school, concentrate on your studies, and find some ECs that jazz you up. And find something else to do besides looking at CC. Life is too short. :)

Thanks.
I have some good ideas for projects, i dont care what colleges think of them.
I am taking the hardest courses at my school. I started off well, lost motivation in the middle, and am coming back at the end of the year.
