I have a 4.0 and a 35 ACT in high school-
This past summer (between jun. and sen. year) I took 2 courses at a community college
In my one class we had a 'group project' which composed 40% of out grade. Despite getting excellent test scores, I had 2 group members who did not care at all, which resulted in a very poor group grade. I received an A- in the class. They weight an A- as a 3.0, so my cumaltive GPA was like 3.8
Should I send that transcript off with applications, or pretend I never even took the classes?

send it off, definitely.
a 3.8 for college courses is as impressive, if not more, than a 4.0 in high school.
Also, it shows that you did something productive over the summer.

it's a community college though.

Yeah, so what?
Again, it shows that you put effort into academic work over the summer.
That's a definite plus for me.

gotcha 10char

Yeah-send their transcript along with HS to colleges, as it sets you apart from your competition. However, you may not want to give it to your high school, as your HS may not weigh the course, and thereby bring your GPA down.
