Community College Path to UCs?

Hi, I’m new to College Confidential and I’m looking for some advice on the viability of transferring to a UC from community college.

I’ve been accepted to UCSC and UCSB, waitlisted at UCD and UCSD, and rejected from UCLA so far. While I can go directly into UCSC or UCSB, I’m starting to consider going to community college and participating in the TAP program to transfer into either UCLA or UCSD(if I end up getting rejected).

If I participate in the TAP program, I’m hoping to transfer after 1 year using the AP credits I have accumulated in high school.

I’ve also been accepted to University of Washington with Honors as well as SDSU Weber Honors College, but I am still unsure of which path to take because my heart was set on UCLA and UCSD. I am currently planning on majoring in neuroscience/psychology for pre-med. Worst case, I can TAG into the other UC schools I’ve already been accepted to, but that could just be me justifying this path.

Another thing I’m a bit concerned about is whether transferring from a community college would reflect negatively on my application for med school in the future.

Any advice would be much appreciated!
Thank you

I’m not sure these stats will matter but just in case, here they are:

Current GPA: 4.32(W), 3.88(UW), 4.39(UC)
SAT: 1530 superscored (750 reading, 780 math, 23 writing)
APs & scores: Chemistry(3), World History(4), Calculus AB(5), Biology(5), Statistics(5), US History(5), Language&Composition(5), Psychology(5) and I’m taking Government, Macro Econ, Computer Science A, and Lit this year

There’s no harm in following up on the waitlist but, in the interim, I’d snag a spot at one of the schools that accepted you. All 4 are excellent. If you go to a CC, you will miss the whole freshman dorm experience - which IMHO is one of the most important and formative ones.
