What are my chances? Transferring to UC's

I was in the associated students for 1 year, am in the honors transfer program [am also in the honors club], which allows TAP students the increased chance to get into UCLA, and was a counselor fo 8 months at a residential housing for people with mental illnesses and I helped them transition out with independent living skills.

I’m a psychology major.

My grades aren’t that good right now. I’ve been at my community college since for three years now (since 2014) and I expect to transfer out in Fall 2019. My cumulative GPA is 3.18. I have 4 C’s, 1 F, and 4 W’s. The two C’s were from scattered semesters with A’s and B’s. The other 2 C’s were while I was in the associated students due to some time management issues, but also because I was abused verbally and stigmatized on mental health from my parents. The W’s are scattered as well.

Spring semester I got a W and F, but got work experience units. I got that because the abuse increased, along with other circumstances as well.

The schools I am aiming for is UCB, UCLA, UCSC, UCSB, UCI, San Diego State University.

Right now I am focused on increasing my grades, am in therapy (since 2016). Last semester was so bad I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder with mania, and ran away from home (I’m back now), and am currently working things out with my parents.

What are my chances getting into these schools? And do you have any advice for me? I really want to be unlimited in opportunities - and need to increase my grades.

Also, should I join more extracurriculars after healing some more this semester (currently just focusing on grades this semester)? I was thinking of joining the associated students again.

Focus on grades. With your GPA I wouldn’t bother applying to UCB or UCLA, but instead would add more of the easier to get into UC’s and/or CSU’s. There are a LOT of very good schools in the UC system. You can do well at any of them.

Although these stats are from 2016 (2017 not published yet), It will give you an idea of the UC Transfer GPA admit rate by campus and major: https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major

I agree with @DadTwoGirls that UCB and UCLA will be a waste of time. Apply widely for the best chances.
