I wanted to know if i had any chances of transferring out of my current community college. I am a first year freshman & the first semester i took 3 classes. a redimal reading class to get into eng 101 which i passed. the first level of a foreign languauge which i got a inc & a math class that i had no chances of passing so i stopped going and got an f. Im currently in my 2nd semester & and on academic probation. I Have four classes which im taking right now & im maintaing b
s & c
s so far. Is there any school that i can transfer to with my current situation. i want to take summer classes as well so this way it can boost my average a lil and help me transfer out. my current gpa is 0.0 because of the f(math), inc (which = to a f in foreign language) & a p (pass for the remadial course to get into eng101). & the 2nd semester grades did not come out yet. i want to know should i continue at this school even though i dont like it or can i transfer out. somebody help me??? any schools that i can at least try to get into. i mean ANY????????

Nope. Unless you want to transfer to a worse CC, that is.

What state are you in? Check out minimum GPA needed to transfer to your local state college and aim for that by your junior-transfer year (usually about 60 semester units transferred).

You need to likely stay at your CC, retake those classes you got an F. Many colleges swap the grade out… meaning that once you retake that F class and get, say, a B - while both grades are recorded on your transcript, only the B grade is calculated in your GPA. That makes a huge difference!

Talk to a counselor at your school about A) how to retake those classes B) how your future GPA will recalculate once you retake them C) what realistic minimum GPA do you need to transfer to a local state college (or other options depending on how high you can get your GPA and if you can show a trend of upward and steady grades).

As for trying to transfer out - I don’t see what the issue might be. Most places other than maybe another CC just won’t take you as a transfer right now. So buck up, go to your classes, pass them. Take a reduced load if needed. Take ONE class and ace it. You need to get a grip on what is expected out of college students.

Take a year off and work (and/or work plus ONE class at a time for awhile). Not everyone is ready to do the work and concentrate at college. Lots of people go to colleges they don’t “like” the campus, etc.

Good luck.
