Community College to a University?

I'm currently a senior in high school and I was wondering if going to a community college then transferring to a university would be a better fit for me. I live in Georgia and I'm looking to go somewhere in California. So I was thinking I would go to a CC in CA then transfer so it would be cheaper?

Currently, my stats are:
- 3.86 GPA
- 1720 on the SAT (this was my first time with no preparation, I plan on taking it again in the fall)
- 26 on the ACT (again, no preparation)
- rank 22 out of 600 something students

Also, I have absolutely no idea what I want to major in or what I want to do in the future so I was thinking going to cc first would help me figure this out? Not sure though..help?

Yes, CC -> uni is cheaper compared to straight to a uni, but the out of state tuition may not be worth it. Additionally, I’m not sure if going to a CCC would benefit you since you may still be an OOS. I’m not sure though.

Look into the UC’s and CSU’s definitions for establishing CA residency. If you’re attending school without “proof” of domiciling in CA, you will not receive residency status. This affects not only cost of attendance, but also application status as well… in-state vs out-of-state.
