Hi, I am currently in my 3rd year at a comm college. My major is Biochem and i want to transfer to UCI by the end of Fall 2015. I know i should be transfering by 2014 but i kinda took unnecessary classes during my first year and had troubles getting in the required classes like chem and bio so its taking me longer than expected.

Right now my GPA is a 3.04, the reason is that i just got a D in my Calculus 2 last semester. Im retaking it this semester so hopefully i can raise my gpa up. I mostly get As and Bs on my transcript, and 2 Cs from GE courses.

I havent done that much of any Extracurricular activities except for a few months volunteering at a library, i have had 2 jobs so far, and i plan on volunteering at a hospital this year.

I know that my major is impacted, the TAG program has several changes since last year and they say my major isnt eligible to apply for TAG. Some people suggested i apply under a different major ( for example, pharmaceutical science) which is eligible for TAG then change my major once i get into UCI.

Lets say i do that and get my gpa up to a 3.3-3.4, what are my chances of getting in UCI?

Is there anything else that i can do to let me have a better chance of getting in?

Please help me with your utmost sincerity, im really lost and worried. YOUR HELP WILL BE FOREVER REMEMBERED!!
