Im currently wrapping up my first year at CC with a summer course as well as enrolled and ready to go in the fall at my CC. Ill be applying for my TAG to UCI next semester for a hopeful fall 15 enrollment. My current gpa is a 3.3.

I guess I am just a little confused as to how the actual tag agreement works as I want to major in Neurobiology at UCI but that major doesnt participate in TAG.

Also any tips to brighten up my application would be well appreciated. UCI was at one point my second choice (to UCB) but I find myself feeling Irvine more and more, so if anyone else ever debated UCI vs UCB your thoughts would be appreciated as well.

You can’t tag for neurobiology since that major is excluded. It might be because an packed major. Do you mean Fall 2014? You can’t tag 2 years in advance.

has earned a minimum GPA of 3.4 in all UC-transferable coursework by the end of the summer 2013 for fall 2014 admission and will maintain GPA of 3.4 in all UC-transferable coursework for all subsequent terms;

Sorry bro you can’t TAG period with a 3.3.

Are you pretty set on UCI or are you open to UCLA and the ther UC’s?

Im pretty set on UCI, but I still have a lot of time to get my gpa up to a 3.4 (not too far of a stretch from a 3.3 with a full year to go) so im not too concerned with tag reqs, just concerned about how my potential major is untaggable.

Also, if anyone has insight into what life is like on the UCI campus that would be great! Live on/off campus? Thanks!

If you’re trying to TAG UCI for Fall 2014, you’re applying THIS September, 2 months away! I’m not sure if your current GPA is counting the summer class or not but you’re gonna need a 3.4 GPA by the time you apply for your TAG to be accepted.

I’m not sure if this is right but at my CC Neuroscience is listed under Psych, UCI does have a major which is Psychology and Social Behavior (632). You could major in that and specifically NeuroScience, I’d talk to admissions about it or a transfer rep.

But I think if you just submit the application with a 3.3 you should get approved even without the TAG, and if not you can always appeal, just make sure you have back up schools.

Hey you guys! I just transferred this Fall to UCI! (Not through TAG though) If you guys have ANY questions, concerns, etc. PLEASE do not hesitate to hit me up! Its best to PM cause I get e-mails when someone does (and I’m always checking my e-mail on the daily).

You can hit me up here but be warned that I may not answer your questions right away. Lol

Good luck to you all and hope to see you incoming Anteaters in a year! ;]
