hello, I'm currently going to Irvine Valley College in OC, California, starting as a Sophomore now and I'm looking to transfer to a Cal State, not a UC or any huge college, My options are either of the CAL POLYS or San Jose State university.
So this current summer semester (2014) I came across a pickle. I was taking a Trig class in the summer, but weeks after i felt as if it was a better idea to just drop the class and take it in the FALL (2014) due to the fact i was getting heavy hours at work, and i came across a really harsh fever/cold! so i told my professor my situation and she thought it was a good idea. So i had, what i thought, dropped the class, but I never new how to drop a class, i assumed my teacher would just drop me ? so weeks later, theres only a week left in the class and i go on my registration and came across that it still says I'm enrolled in my trig class, meaning I haven't been dropped. so I'm screwed now and can't drop the class, and i now have a F in the class.. so what my plan is to just retake it next semester and get the A. i have passed all my previous classes with A's, and B's so i figured this wouldn't look bad on my transcript when i look to transfer, or would the F still look bad on my transcript even though i retook it and get an A in the class? would it lower my chances of getting accepted to a cal state?

Things happen. Just take the class over. While both classes will appear on your transcript, when you take it over the new (higher) grade will replace the lower grade.

And just an fyi (for the future) – usually to drop a class you go to the same website you go to when you register for classes. You will see all your classes listed and you click on the drop down box next to the class you are enrolled in and want to drop and it will give you an option to select (drop). Then save, and the class will be dropped.
