I am currently attending community college in Virginia and will graduate with an associates in Business Administration this spring. I have a 4.0 and expect to finish with that as well. I have been extremely involved and have made a point of taking the most challenging classes at my community college (mainly calculus and physics). I will finish with 74 credit hours.
Anyway, from when I first started at community college, I had the goal of transferring into University of Virginia’s McIntire school of Commerce which has a 12% acceptance rate. It has been my be primary focus for over a year now. I did not even consider applying anywhere else until just recently… After attaining success at CC as well as hoping to acquire a job in investment banking, I felt it would be foolish to not at least pursue other schools as well. I had never thought I would have the qualification to have a realistic chance of getting into an ivy league school. However, it is now seeming like it may be foolish to not at least consider it.
So I guess what I was hoping to get out of this thread was some advice moving forward. Is it worth my time to apply to these schools and if so, which ones would you think I have the best chances/best fit in. Columbia and UPenn have peaked my interest but like I said, do not know if my chances are worth the effort/money.I am planning on receiving an Economics/Commerce/Finance degree. Any tips or advice you can impart on me would be immensely helpful.
