Community service abroad. How to find an organization

that is reliable and safe? My D wants to go to Africa or India to do community service. Last year, her school organized a community service to Asia, and she went to a very poor area. The town didn't have any infrastructure such as electricity, running water, toilets, etc., my D was successful in her community service and felt a great deal of pride by helping. So she'd like to do another community service during summer and wants to go to Africa or India. So, I'm looking for an organization, and I'd like to get some recommendations. Do any parents here have a recommendation for a highly respected and well run organization? thanks in advance.

I heard about Youth for Understanding has abroad programs, but I don't have experience with them - maybe other do?

I've read posts here about an organization called Here Be Dragons but don't know anything about it personally. I'm not sure if it is community service or study abroad under more rustic conditions, but do remember posters being enthusiastic. It would be worth doing a search here for it.
