Community Service and Business School

EDIT: The above post should say "and law school"; I'm debating between the two and thus posted a similiar thread in the business school forum.

I'll start by saying I already know that law and for that matter business schools don't care about extra curricular's you do not related to law or business respectively, BUT is community service an exception to this rule? At the very least I would think an essay focusing on a unique aspect of your community service might help your application.

On a slightly unrelated note, I was wondering if anyone could tell me wether the top law school applications generally have a place to list extra curricular's and/or could provide me a link to a sample law school application (I've been unsuccessful in my search so far). Thank you for your help.

"BUT is community service an exception to this rule?"

let me ask you: does it matter to you?

as for the apps. go to the admissions section of the law school/ b-school you are interested in. they're there.

Yes, community service matters to me, but my time will be a scarce resource in college, and I don't want to spend a lot of it doing something that is not maximizing my chances of achieveing my future goals.

EDIT: I did visit the admissions sections of various top law schools and although they mentioned some of their criteria for admission, there were no actual admissions documents presented. I'm assuming those would only be available from these sites to those actually applying who have an ID/password.
