Hey guys! I have recently visited a lot of schools and I found that what I really like most in a school is the feeling of pride in not only the school itself but also in the student body, almost as if the entire student body were one big family. Stanford has always been my dream, but unfortunately we will not be able to visit before I apply. I was just wondering if Stanford also has a community vibe with students supporting and enjoying the company of each other, or if it is more of an “each man for himself” kind of institution. Thanks!
Very much so. Even the other pre-meds I knew were very collaborative and not at all competitive. Expect study parties before pset due dates to be the norm!
Not a cut-throat atmosphere at all, at least in terms of undergrad experience.
Very collaborative. None of my courses limited the amount of people who could receive a certain grade so helping others do well didn’t hurt your own chances of being bumped down a grade. At some schools that’s not the case.
