compare non-dorm housing options at cal (wesley house?)

Most freshman live in the dorms (units, clark kerr, etc) and then move out for their second year and beyond. Common options include: co-ops, i-house (upper division only), and individual apartments. However, there are also student housing apartments such as Wesley house and telegraph commons, which seem to be more like dorms than classic apartments.

What's your opinion on Wesley house / telegraph commons, compared to other options? Are there any others like them?

I’ve read some things about Telegraph Commons that make it seem sketchy. I remember reading in the Daily Cal about a girl’s experience living there, and (among other problems) there was a leak in their ceiling above her bed, and management’s ‘solution’ was to attach a trash can to the ceiling over the leaky spot… Leaving the trash can inches from her face while she slept. Not the best living situation if you ask me. I’ve also heard about rat/bug problems there…

Wesley house on the other hand looks a lot better, but I know nothing about it.

Interesting. What other places are like wesley/telegraph?

Seems like non-freshman housing consists of:
-Apartments (majority)
-I-House (upper div)
-Co-ops
-Wesley/telegraph…? (what others?)
-Any other types you can think of?
