to me it was pretty much basic stuff. you may need to prepare a little( a little more if youre ESL) but its pretty simple. i barely studied and my score was fine

I mean if English is your second language then I think what I said is no longer valid because you have a distinct disadvantage that isn’t intelligence related. Plus, I have no idea what it’s like to learn ESL.

From what my Chinese friends tell me, it’s hell. Imagine taking the SSAT- but this time in Latin.

I have two questions to someone who knows all about boarding school.
First My son’s GPA is between 3.7 to 3.8. I know that is not that good. so how much points do you think he should get to be accepted by hill school and mercerburg acadamy easily?
second question is where is a good site to practice ssat question for free?

Peter-try reading some older threads. You will find that no 1 or 2 items will make a kid a sure thing.

The gpa is based on many items such as schools and rankings. Check the website boardingschoolreview.com, you will get a lot of information about each of those schools. If a visit is possible do it.

I recommend just purchasing an SSAT prep book (under 20 bucks). It has all the exam instructions and I believe 3 full practice exams.

As far as SSAT score–it is just an indicator. If you review these threads you will see that kids with sometimes perfect 99% dont get an acceptance anywhere. The schools are looking for a well rounded students who will contribute to a community.

Good Luck.

How hard it is to get in to Hill school and Mercersburg?

Will they going to figure out if I lie about my addition activities?

ˆˆˆThe fact that you’d even suggest that on this forum is very very troubling.ˆˆˆ

I would think that lying on the application, when caught [and very likely in the confines of boarding schools, it would], would likely be immediate reason for explusion. Kids don’t typically make good liars nor good secret keepers.

@petercho, I`m sure Mercersburg and Hill will check out your sons application with a fine tooth comb. You are hurting his chances. BTW, his GPA is fine so let him do his own application.

thank you. And He just got ssat score. He got 2100(71%). Is this good enough?
