Hi everyone,

I've been following for a bit and would love some insight.
My daughter took the ISEE on January 26th and the SSAT on Feb. 2nd. She got the following on the ISEE:

Verbal 61%
Reading 60%
Quantitive Reasoning 94%
Math Achievement 74%

She then took the SSAT to see if she could do any better.
On the SSAT she got:
Reading 40% (ugh)
Verbal 73%
Math 85%
Overall 70% These are not submitted.

I'm thinking the would ISEE look better to schools but I'm not really sure. She guessed a ton on the SSAT where she should have just omitted so she got a lot of points off for that. Would you submit both scores or only one? I have to submit by the end of the week and not sure which to do.

I feel like the ISEE looks better, but I am not an AO lol

Schools prefer SSAT as it’s classified as more difficult. Which school are you applying to?

SSAT is not classified as more difficult.

Your ISEE’s do look better simply because they look at “stanine” very closely and you just squeaked by with two 6’s with those 60 and 61% tiles. It looks like you have an 8 and three 6’s. Those aren’t bad, but they aren’t what is going to get you in either. An 8 a 6 and two 5’s would be a whole different story, and like I said you squeaked by. 59% is a 5. 60%-76% is a 6. I’d submit the ISEE scores.

@Bshopeful2013 [St. Paul’s School ~ Application Process](http://www.sps.edu/podium/default.aspx?t=6447) Check the testing section. They do prefer SSAT. Perhaps not because of difficulty, but they do prefer it. I also asked which school because others have no preference.

Hey Alaska, the school she is applying to asks for the ISEE but says they will take the SSAT in lieu of that. So, she can really submit either. Everything else about her application we think is really strong, so this is the one thing we are most concerned about. Hopeful, yes she just squeaked by with these sixes on the reading and verbal. Math has always been her strong suit. She got a lot of points off on the reading for questions she should have omitted, she forgot about the guessing penalty as she had prepped for the ISEE and the SSAT was an afterthought to see if she could get higher scores. She didn’t omit any answers so that really did not help but there is no time left to retake. Thanks for all of your input, it’s much appreciated. We’ll submit the ISEE.
