COMPASS Mathematics Placement

Recently, I've been accepted into Baruch in NY, and they require me to take a CUNY placement test for mathematics. It's not optional even though I have higher scores than what they asked for (regents, sat math, act math).

So they gave me an appointment and I dont feel like I have enough time to prepare for this (I got this a day ago and the test is tomorrow). I called to reschedule and said 3/18 would be the next available date but he also told me it's best to take it as soon as possible for test evaluation. I was wondering if taking it later ( I want to take it on 3/18 so I can prepare for this ) would affect my chances of getting placed into an advanced mathematics course in the school. I.E. would the spots fill up???

Thanks if anyone could provide assistances. Baruch is perhaps my first choice, i applied to their macaulay honors program.

Kenneth

I took it and and I got in the top 15%.

It was really easy. If you got over a 600 on the SAT Math, you'll be fine.

Oh, and if you already took AP Calc and got a 4 or higher, it doesn't matter what you get on that test. That test just determines if you are going to be in College Algerbra, Pre-Calc, or Calc.

Many of my friends have gone to take a mathematics placement in Baruch. I asked them how did they know they had to take a test, and they said they recieved a letter in the mail. I did not recieve any letter from Baruch, at least not that I know of. They are all taking or have taken the placement test this week.

Should I be worried that I have not recieved this letter (yet)?

I never received a letter after I took the test.

I called them like one month before the fall semester and asked them for my score. All they told me was I scored among the highest, and I was put into Calculus.

I took test yesterday and I don’t know that I got but I did pass calculus in my college
